With its motto "The explosive sound from Today's scene", Milan-based independent label Record Kicks, together with similar outfits like Daptone Records, Jazzman or Timmion, has been pitching the so-called "Retro Soul Revival" movement for over a decade. Now it proudly present Soul Sides: an irresistibly infectious compilation made of 12 superb gems that turn your days into total Soul fire!

The collection starts with the Dutch Retro-Soul Sensation The Tibbs: the singer Elsa Bekman - supported by a super tight band - will impress everybody with her unique, raw and gritty vocals. We move on with Sydney soul/funk outfit Dojo Cuts and their "Sometimes It Hurts", from the album "Take from Me", which has been supported by the entire Daptone Records! Next in line is "Birds and Bees", a jar of stunning deep soul honey by Michigan's finest deep funk combo Third Coast Kings. It's our Soul Sister turn: explosive Marta Ren with her Groovelvets is fiercely singing "So Long" - her new single taken from the sensational debut LP "Stop Look Listen". Our Portuguese star is followed by another Record Kicks' Soul Diva: the UK Hurricane Hannah Williams & The Affirmations with "Another Sunrise", a scorcher from their new album "Late Nights And Heartbreak" produced by The Heliocentics' head honcho Malcolm Catto.

Our Soulstresses are followed by the incredible American ambassadors of groove Diplomats Of Solid Sound, the Jazz-funk break-beaters from Newcastle Nick Pride & The Pimptones, our Funk Queen Gizelle Smith, the contemporary "retro soul" sensation The Hawk and the Italian bros Milano Jazz-Dance Combo.

The grand finale is entrusted to Record Kicks' new Soul Sensation Tanika Charles, incredible Canadian Soul singer who is making the globe dance with her "Love Fool", and to the British combo Unity, to end up our Soul Sides with a mix of broken beat, electro, disco, jazz and soul music!
